Dr. Virgil was born and raised in Tolleson, AZ, a small city outside of Phoenix. He attended Arizona State University and earned his B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering. After graduating he went to work for Maricopa County as a Public Health Inspector and Spanish Liaison whilst earning his Master’s in Business Administration before deciding to enter medical school. During his undergraduate career he volunteered as a Spanish Interpreter at the Wesley Community Center, a local health center that serves the underserved, undocumented, and indigent populations of downtown Phoenix. It was here that he first fell in love with community medicine, and being around so many compassionate and caring health care providers set the foundation for his choice to be a Family Medicine Physician. Outside of medicine Dr. Virgil enjoys Latin/Ballroom dancing, reading poetry and works of fiction, traveling, shamatha meditation, and listening to live music. Go Devils!
