Clinical Interests: Preventative Medicine, Community Medicine, Transitional Care for Individuals with Disability

I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, OK, to immigrant parents from Korea and Iran. I grew up with a brother who had significant developmental and physical disability, initially motivating me to become a physician. My journey to family medicine has been an unconventional one: after graduating from the University of Oklahoma, I became a high school teacher in Brownsville, TX, teaching AP Biology, Physics, and Medical Microbiology. After teaching, I worked as a lab technician in Tulsa, Oklahoma. These experiences also greatly influenced my decision to pursue medicine as a profession. My medical training brought me to an island in the Caribbean and eventually to New York City where I worked with underserved communities in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens.

Beyond medicine, I am a serial hobbyist. I enjoy fly fishing, perfecting pie pastries and fillings, skateboarding, drawing, and reading. My partner and I also love spending time outdoors with our dog, and inside with our grumpy cat.
